Just Friends
I told you from the beginning,
this is all it will ever be,
You told yourself that I was wrong,
you knew best for me
I tell you we are only friends,
I remind you all the time
Even though I pull you close
and kiss you like you’re mine
Perhaps that’s why you tell yourself
that I will change my mind
You analyze the things I do,
always looking for a “sign”
So I was telling you one thing,
while you told yourself another…
I told you we are just friends,
who happen to be lovers.
You told yourself it meant more
and I’d change if you kept trying,
I can understand why you feel lied to
but which one of us was lying?
