Just Friends

It stated a night a txt you explained.
Trust was built a friendship was gained.

You expressed the love your heart would never lack.
You told me your love would never love back.

Time went on as you continued to share.
The friend you love had none to compare.

Little did I know my heart would soon cry.
You looked at what you couldn't have, as did i.

The nights we stayed up, it was easy to be.
Strong for you cuz I ignored me.

I noticed I too loved but I never would say.
And I stayed with you hope, you just might, you just may.

This topic of hurt soon became a brick wall.
As I soon relized 'help' was our only friendship's call.

Your heart you read as you began to cry.
Our parallel pain, your tears came from my eye.

I slowed down the habits but I never left your side.
My strength was too weak my heart slowly died.

I held our love the same it seemed to be.
But the truth is, your love was never meant for me.

The weight of this emotion finally became too much.
And I turned to a friend as he was my only crutch.

Now what this came to be a cycle a trend
The truth remiand we were just friends
