Just For You

Darling I hope you
understand
I pour not words like beach
sand
Each finding a place of its
own
Each sliding away before
dawn.

I weigh out words like the
cornerstone
I trim down sounds like the
garden
lawn
I cut out rhymes like the
roofing
beam
And verses bricks from the
village stream.

The sum a castle
Strong but subtle
Sweet a poesy just for you.
