Just For a Moment

Stop the world, things move too fast
While trying to make the good things last
Precious moments they slip on by
Please slow it down
I try I try
Just for a moment
Let the world stay the same
I am tired of this rat race game
I just want time to think and breathe
Inhale exhale
Then relieve
The world is in a hurried rush
We lose ourselves
Fall out of touch
The simple things have come and gone
Just for a moment, from this moment on
Just for a lifetime
How long will that be
It isn’t up to you or me
So take each as if it were the last
And slow it down
Don’t move too fast
As we walk this road together
Around each winding turn
I will hold your hand forever
For the eternity that I yearn
Just for a moment
When your heart is in my hands
A loving smile remembers
This loving soul understands

You really do have a way with words! this is great advice, but it doesn't come off as preachy. I really like how you speed up and slow down the poem as you go, as it relates to what you're saying. very clever :)

Often 'tis those singular moments in life that make all the difference, and you're absolutely right, it's good to just slow down. Well done.
