Just Don'T Expect Me To Be Pleased

I’ll always be here Just don’t expect me to be pleased If you live with someone who hits you. I’ll kick up a fuss So don’t expect me to keep quiet I won’t. I’ll always care But I do feel cross You chose to live with someone like that. You did nothing for months A big pretence You said “ it’s fine.” It wasn’t. The kids were scared You smiled Don’t think I couldn’t see you were scared too. You read in the news “He did this, he did that.” “Why didn’t her family help “we all asked. So I did I don’t care if you are annoyed He’s gone. You are safe. I’ll always be here Just don’t expect me to be pleased Not yet, it takes time.

Wonderful creative writing today Tricia. I will be back soon to read more if the gremlins in PoetrySoup will permit. Love, Carol
