Just Distraction

Upon a rock I made my bed
Not seeking to be comforted,
If so, I'd have a quilt of down
And a feather pillow for a crown.

But no, I want it bare and stark
I want to wear the boulders mark
To feel a different kind of pain,
Distraction for my mind again.

No solace comes with passing time
Just confusion in my mind,
Life can bring such bitter sorrow
As it will again tomorrow.

Passing years bring scant relief
So heavy on my shoulders, grief.
Thus has brought me to this action
No easing it,  just distraction.

Such a deeply compelling and heartfelt write Gary of pain and sorrow that there is no comfort for. Very emotional imagery vividly portrayed. A completely captivating first write here on PS!

"No solace comes with passing time Just confusion in my mind." I like the indirect rhymes here. Interesting poem.
