You call to tell me you miss me,
And need me, then I hurry back to you
Not a minute too soon
Just because...
I often come home with
Your favorite things: flowers and chocolate
Valentine's Day, or not
Just because...
I love smothering you
With bear hugs and passionate kisses
A quotidian habit of mine
Just because...
I spoil you rotten with all my love,
With gifts on any given day; I don't wait
For your birthday or our anniversaries.
Just because...
Before I leave at dawn, I offer
Pieces of my heart on a post-it-note,
Then tape it on the wall for you to find
Just because, need I say it?
Because....I love YOU.
