Just Awaiting
I look down onto the ground
High up from my tree
I see a little rock
Lonely just like me
I look up to the sky
Branches block my view
When I see precious buds
Just awaiting to bloom
Millions of them catch my eye
Swaying in harmony
I think just how lucky they are
To live with their friends and family
Just like butterflies in a cocoon
They wait for spring
Just so they can open up
And hopefully be seen
I just like the last bud that hasn’t bloomed
Sit here all alone
Maybe one day I will blossom
And show you that I’ve grown
