Just Another Dream

I am the girl of your dreams
But you just don’t know it

I am to be lavished to be loved
Sought after by meters of men
But for you to take advantage of again

I will advise you rescue you
And hang on your every word
Although they speak for some other girl

I will ask you about your day
As I’ll do when we’re old and married
And you smile for how lucky a friend I’ll always be

My hair will twirl ‘round my fingers
My eyes will gaze into yours
As yet another friendly punch caresses my arm

And a day will come that I’ll give in
To become a friend, a love for another
But I know someday you will come to miss me

And that is all I could ever dream for.

Such longing! But in my fairly long life, I've found friends last the distance much better than lovers, so all is never lost. You speak for us all, so eloquently - thank you!

Thank you. I can't actually say I feel this at all in the present, but I have to a lesser extent in the past. I just feel like its a common feeling that a lot of people get, falling in love with a friend that doesn't realize your feelings for them. I can only hope it brings hope for someone.
