Just An Unanswered Question

There it is again,
the same question I asked back then.

A child learns
 but still the question burns.

A million steps are taken
 and the question never forsaken.

Asked by so many
you'd think the answers be plenty.

No, not yet as ages pass
 and still the question's asked.

You formed it in your early years
between the laughter and the tears.

The answer though never comes
even as life seems to seek newer ones.

All the same as we grow
it's asked again yet never known.

Why are we here, what's all about
is there a God to quench my doubt?

In my nightly prayer today,
please God, show me the way.
