Just a Book?

I use to be the people's conscience, sturdy as the grey china wall But now Im the menacing red constriction of a stop sign Just a book I use to set a righteous par so virtuous, pure and white But now Im dusted,rusted, stories without glories Just a book I use to be God's guiding hand blue and gentle But now it seems Im his oppressive finger pushing down on brown tainted morals Just a book
