June and Johnny

June and Johnny got out of his car June and Johnny, wishing on a star June and Johnny took a short walk June and Johnny had a little talk On just one thing did they agree The time had come to make a little baby June was fifteen; Johnny a year older As they disrobed, their feet got colder June bit her lip; said she was scared Johnny stiffened inside; he actually cared for his honey, but when he saw her bare June froze him with her innocent stare... ...In each other's arms they found ecstasy reaching unimagined heights, pure fantasy though afterward, their deep sighs exhaled they each on a sharp knife of guilt, the other impaled

Kind of like 'Jack and Diane,' perhaps, back in the day. ~ J.C. Mellenkamp the 3rd

Nice humorous read. Enjoyed it. Thanks for your recent comments on my poetry. On the poem WAR , I largely agree with the sentiments you've expressed. I do think that social engineering, propaganda and fear play a role in governing/controlling nations and people. No doubt other factors have a role to play too. Sorry, but I can't reply to comments by the usual reply mechanism ( out of order). Hence the reason for this.

Hello I think this is great! Reliving my days in Elmwood Park! Lol... Though in those years..a kiss was over- Powering enough for me. Ah-so innocent. Wishing on a star, in a rag-top on a Spring night...very romantic. night kissing,, Panagiota

Yeah, you're right. Back in the day, it was kissing and (sometimes) 'heavy petting.' At least, that's the term I remember from the mid-'60's. That's a long time ago, I guess... ~ gw

Hi Gershon, This is a good narrative. As I was reading this this song" Ring Of Fire" popped in my head. I'm a huge country music fan. Great title and content. I enjoyed the read:-) Alexis

Whoa! The Great Johnny Cash! I really like "Ring of Fire" too... Ever hear "Man in Black," which he did on a college campus about 8-9 years ago or so? Amazing! ... My favorite 'current' (last few years) country song is 'Little Chicken Fried,' by the Zack Brown Band. How about yours? ~ Gershon
