June

Can it really be June?
How’d it get here so soon?
I’m not ready to belt out
A summertime tune.

Days are long enough now
And I just don’t know how
I can fill them with all that
Restrictions allow.

Still, most folks won’t agree
Thinking summer will be
Back to how it once was
Living life Covid-free.

But my coming-out’s slow
And there’s one thing I know
That before we blink twice,
June will pick up and go.

How can it possibly be June? I'm still back in February (or would be if the temps were lower). Ha! I'm not ready for summer heat! I enjoyed your poem, Ilene! Blessings, Kim M

Can't believe we're in June already Ilene, the year is flying, sadly I won't be as Turkey is on the red list. Tom
