July's Delight
The evening's thunderstorms
have brought the coolest breeze
to the most serene sky of July...
squealing seagulls swoosh down
the foaming waves clashing
on the bare,hot rocks;
desperate and hungry seagulls
searching and pecking...
suddenly lifting with their sealed pecks
wriggling fishes trying to free themselves;
what a pitiful scene to watch!
The playful collen,with spots
on his well-groomed head,
is finally let loose...
from his tortureous leash,
so glad not to have missed
another adventureous day on the beach!
The attentive dog sits and waits thinking,
planning out his next move while observing
that athletic,young man
with a golden tan...and an incredible physique
resembling a greek god,
throwing the hard ball
to the other player looking straight ahead;
the canine suddenly runs
so sure of catching it,
but panting,stops half way so disppointed!
The morning's light wind feels great
brushing my dry and sandy lips...
I pass by folks worshipping the sizzling sun,
and adolescents greet me with spontaneousness;
I wave back at them friedlessness,
feeling good...reviving my joy,almost gone,
so often not felt in that immesurable way!
I continue walking further down
to unearth seashells buried in the wet sand;
if treasures are measured by value,
these are the ones I'd rather have...
and keep them as a reminder of a sea so blue!
