July heat

waiting for rain
even the old frog pond
is silent

Chetta, I can feel the heat of the July you are experiencing and can imagine, through your words, how loud those frogs usually sound outside of that July heat. Lovely haiku. PS July has been a washout so far here in the UK. Cheers - Gary

Thank you for the sad story of the frog pond. I hope the frogs are OK. If it's down South way, someone may have eaten them.

Southwest Washington state. My Finnish relatives were known to eat a frog leg or two!

Your words paint the perfect image of a hot and muggy July. Wonderful haiku, my friend

I enjoyed reading your "July Heat" write. July is always a hot month. Yes, we need rain here. Hot/dry. Have a fun cool day writing away............
