Notes About The Poem

Often we tend to sit in judgement of others for what we ourselves have been guilty of at one time or another. I think it's best to keep my own nose clean and let God take care of my neighbors.

JUDGE AND JURY

You point the accusing finger,
For infractions of the rules.
Common sense and understanding,
Oft must bow to a book of rules.

You sit in judgement of the wrong,
Hating evil doers,
Refusing explanations,
As clemencies grow fewer.

When you sit in judgement,
You accept a dreadful task;
For you drink judgement on yourself,
When you drink from that flask.

God will judge the mind and heart,
When're He judges sin.
Man will judge the act alone.
He cannot see within.

So think before you judge someone,
For oft you can't say sorry.
Be certain of the circumstance,
When you are judge and jury.

I totally agree. It’s interesting how the things about others that often bother us are reflections of our own limitations. Well expressed Judy.

Thank you so much Richard. I agree, when we find something that annoys us in another person it is often one or two of our own faults. God Bless, JB

" I was president then so it does not matter." Arn't we commanded to fear God?

Yes indeed my friend but what it says is to be assured of His unfailing love and forgiveness but to fear His wrath. I rest assured in His forgiveness and providence and protection. Thanks so much for stopping by, God Bless, JB

JudyIt is critical to have an honest disposition that is governed by a firm adherence to noble ideals and principles. This is unquestionably the core of existence. I wish you a Merry Christmas and delightful festivities.

This made a very good point. I'd like to add those people who purposely tell lies so that others will form judgment against someone, such as my neighbor did when she lied to say I sneaked into other's houses. Person to person conversations should be the way. Thank you for this truthful poem.
