Joy
My heart is bursting full of joy,
I've just given birth to a baby boy
Chubby hands and tiny feet
Everything about him is so pure and sweet.
As he lay in my loving arms
Without the knowledge of his many charms.
The innocence of his perfection
Another precious soul for my collection,
Of two daughters and three sons
Who brought joy to me one by one.
Memories start to flow
Of those times so long ago,
As she rubbed the sleep from her eyes
The older woman realised
She had drifted off to sleep,
And this allowed her to take a peep,
Into her past and feel the joy
Of giving birth to her girls and boys.
