Journey of a Tear

A tear is a torrent
Welled up from within
Flowing emotion
From beginning to end

From either side of the spectrum
Could they come about
Happiness or heartache
It's just too hard to tell

Dismissed by so many
Understood by so few
Leaving when dried up
Or after filling a pool

Their lack of existence
Doesn't mean all is well
Could the heartache be over
Has the last one just fell

Be it one, be it two
Be it one thousand and three
They can flow like a river
Or rage like a sea

No less thought in the first
No less pain in the last
Coming at times
They just can't be masked

They all leave a footprint
As they hit the ground
From puddles to pools
They don't make a sound

I wrote and posted a poem about a teardrop recently, so it was interesting for me to see your poem. Love the title; love the poem, full of fine insights. JH
