Jou Boompie Groei

Jou boompie groei 

‘n Saadjie was geplant voorheen
Ek het dit amper verdrink met my trane
Dit het wel ontkiem, maar
Donderweer, Hael en woeste wind -
Onkruid, Ryp en droogtes 
het dit geknou.

Dalk het dit met ‘n goeie doel 
als verbrou

Anders as ‘n kind se emosies
het ons, - nee, JOU boompie 
gegroei,
       g e g r o e i,
     G E G R O E I
totdat ek op kon klim en hoog daarin droom
Maar dis asof jou boompie iets meer nodig het
soos ‘n gevraagde snoei

totdat liefde bloei
Dis als deel van groei
