Joshua's Sunrise
Joshua’s Sunrise
Creeping gold from rock to sky
dawn cuts a cloak dark
wishes uttered unto the breeze
the journey to embark.
Rolling heat rides from the east
scent of granite and sage
the desert heaves a gentle sigh
actors please take the stage.
Skin to rock as heart to love
climb with calloused hands
Joshua trees arms outstretched
reborn from rock and sand.
Stephen (Stoic)
