John Watt

Jokes he delivers us on Fun Monoku Mondays. ”October Skies,” he wrote just when starting college - His gift to loving grandparents which garnered him much praise. Noble is John’s soul, and his mind is filled with knowledge. With Knock-Knock jokes – don’t reply “John Who?” Ask instead “John What?” To which the answer sounds the same as his name: “John Watt?” Thanks too to John’s short name, with this poem I now am through! Terrific acrostic about a terrific fellow... An axiom in life: It takes a first-class person to recognize another one. Kudos to both of you! Happiness and Joy, Gershon

Very cute and funny too, Andrea! I'm not usually an acrostic fan, but this one goes to my faves. I see John is pleased too! Hugs, Carolyn

Good character traits you have described in this character study of John. His name is not ringing a bell. "October Sky" the movie rings true to me. Reads like a good contender to me. Your acknowledgement of my winner with congrats is encouraging. Sara

This is a lovely tribute to John Watt Andrea...though I haven't read many of John Watt's poems, I am aware of the Monday monokus he writes. I agree, 'Noble is his soul', as I still remember he is one of those few, who welcomed me to Soup. My best wishes to you in this contest. Hugs ~ Ani
