Joe's Psalm
Sometimes in life, things do not go so well,
But there is always someone else who has it worse;
I don’t like praying to God for his help
Before giving thanks for all of my blessings first.
Just when it seems I am in the darkest of night,
I do my best to keep my head help up high;
As long as I keep on the trail of the good and the right,
I know that the bad luck I’m experiencing will soon pass me by.
So bring on the serpents, the pestilence and floods;
Rain fire from the skies and let rivers flow with blood.
My resolve and my faith in all that is good
Will remain strong in my bosom right where it should.
Loved ones are lost; life isn’t eternal;
Physical challenges, we sometimes must meet;
Careers don’t always take the course that we hope for
But persevere and you will land on your feet.
Cry not for me, my hardships I’ll suffer
With determination to come through them strong;
A better man I’ll be when the tribulations are over
And remain ever positive my whole life long.
