Jim Beam Black

Jim Beam Black has got my number
Jim Beam Black now wants my soul
Jim Beam Black will take me under
Should I let it take control

I’m so lonely since I lost you
I’m so lonely since you’re gone
Being lonely sure can cost you
If you’re drinking to hold on

There are days that I still see you
There are days I don’t think straight
There are days that I still need you
Got me drinking way too late

Jim Beam Black has got my number
Jim Beam Black now wants my soul
Jim Beam Black will take me under
Should I let it take control

It’s been years but I’m still waiting
It’s been years I’ve had to fill
It’s been years of hesitating
All those memories to kill

All my friends and family pray now
All my friends and family fret
All my friends and family say now
Jim Beam Black will kill me yet

Jim Beam Black has got my number
Jim Beam Black now wants my soul
Jim Beam Black will take me under
Should I let it take control

This is not a story of my life but of someone that meant a lot to me.

Agree - there was a tune running through my head as I wrote it. If you read it out loud you might get the cadence and the tune.
