Jesus Was There
When the road ahead was rocky and long,
When the chips were down all over the ground
When there was no one else anywhere around,
Jesus was there to hold and carry me on.
When I could not see for the darkness was deep.
When the agony was strong,he carried me on.
When no one could bring comfort to me,
Jesus was there holding my hand.
He brought me light on many a dark night.
He brought me warmth when it was cold outside.
When I slipped and fell on rough and rocky ground
Jesus was there to show me the way.
Jesus was there always waiting on me.
He was waiting for my heart to see,
He was there no matter what life might bring.
Jesus was there guiding me home.
No matter the time night or day
Or what befell along the way
It didn't matter how alone I felt
All I needed to do was see with my heart
For through it all Jesus was ther.
