When the road ahead was rocky and long, When the chips were down all over the ground When there was no one else anywhere around, Jesus was there to hold and carry me on. When I could not see for the darkness was deep. When the agony was strong,he carried me on. When no one could bring comfort to me, Jesus was there holding my hand. He brought me light on many a dark night. He brought me warmth when it was cold outside. When I slipped and fell on rough and rocky ground Jesus was there to show me the way.
