Jesus Resurrected

"Jesus wept"
The smallest verse in the Bible
"Jesus wept"
knowing he would die

Jesus longed for their support
yet his disciples slept
Jesus knew the future
You will deny me

Three times before the roster crows
Jesus went to his death
knowing he would die
Gods will be done

God incarnate
willing to suffer
for our sins
a God of love

That gave his life for us
without sin
his punishment was unjust
his reward

Is our redemption
given the right to forgive our sins
the doors are open to us
we get into heaven through his love

against violence
he stopped his disciple
drawing a sword to defend him
stating "get behind me Satan"

Violence belongs
in the domain of the devil
Love God with all your strength
love thy neighbour as thy self

The father, the Son and the holy Ghost
is only one God
call him Allah Call him Jehovah
call him the great white father

Call him what ever you want
yet in truth he created the world
he created the virgin birth
to give us a miracle

To prove that he was our God
feeding one hundred and forty thousand people
bringing the dead back to life
proving he was our God so we could believe

putting his thoughts in a body
the word of God into a man
suffering for us
to show us the path to love

The old testament is about laws
to create the peace
Jesus was about attitudes
to create the peace

Resurrected he walked up into the heavens
our God waiting for us to grow up
waiting for us to overcome suffering
and stop the violence

Think not that I came to create the peace
I came to bring you thoughts
that will turn brother against brother
and make a better world
