Jealousy

I can’t help it that I feel
A little jealous now and then
When thinking of the time I lost
With you that others got to spend

I can’t help it that I feel
The envy building in my blood,
When thinking of the nameless men
That knew your body and your love

I can’t help it that I feel
A tinge of sadness when I think
You gave a smile to someone else
That should have always been for me

I can’t help it that I feel
The loss of days forever done,
But know I’m only jealous now
That you and I are one.

You have written about feelings which most everyone has felt at times, Nick. However, jealousy usualy comes from low self esteem. If they want someone else, they are most likely not good enough for you in the first place. Great write!
