Notes About The Poem

Jaundiced Eye

mellifluous cooing of the Indian koel
enlivening in wee hours of the morn
infusing in soul voids deep joy until
crows croak found tranquility shorn

narrow and prejudiced is our vision
discriminating against the jarring note
condemning without seeking permission
from heart that unconditional love emotes

moment to moment we keep on judging
oblivious to divine beauty below the skin
stuporous attention thus keeps oscillating
within narrow orbits we continue to spin

I believe there will always be racism and discrimination in this world but I do not think everyone is guilty. Regardless of the topic, there will always be haters. Well penned, US.
