Another New Year
Expect a new threat
Accept a new scare
Confect some more fears

Just Another New Year
Brings much added debt
With less on our checks
Plus increases to our rent
Resulting in much stress

Just Another New Year
Calls for another celebration
But I ain’t celebrating
When potential for war is escalating
Rogue states misbehaving
Our children of the world still suffer through enslavement

Just Another New Year
Exposes new secrets kept
More experimental tests
Witnessing accidental deaths,
Preventing domestic violence in our base
Reactions to gay marriages still on the fence
Uprisings in effect

Just Another New Year
Police going unchecked
Paid to protect
They neglect to connect
With the ones who’ve been oppressed
Such a lack of respect
From one to another
And still, we’ll have issues with color

Just Another New Year
The rich continue reaching for the stars
While the poor decline farther behind trying to stay afloat,
Provide a healthy meal and clothes
Without going broke
Maximizing every single vote,
Reminiscing every word the Pope,
Presidents,
and Prime Ministers ever spoke

Just Another New Year
I don’t think I’m looking forward to it
I rather choke

Just Another New Year
Pay attention people and take note!

Welcome…. to Another New Year
