Jake the Snake

There once was a snake
Whose name was Jake
He slithered and slid
And kept well hid
But had a bad encounter with a rake.

He went to jail
For killing a snail
Committed the crime
So he served his time
And lived to tell the tale.

He had too much grog
And got it on with a frog
But was later found
Living deep underground
Far away in a dirty old bog.

I think I like Jake the Snake. Though maybe his decisions have not been that great.

Thank you for reading my poem, Alison. Ever since the Garden of Eden, snakes have been well known for their dubious actions. I find it interesting how snakes can be synonymous with both knowledge and danger - oh, and if we didn't have snakes we'd probably be overrun with rodents and frogs. All the best. Kind regards, Paul.
