Jagged Pebbles

People, come and look!
At the edge of this shallow stream
Where ever swiftening water carves
An endless prophetic theme

Where rough and jagged pebbles
Are slowly made to smooth
Where constant rhythmic motion
Fills every crack and groove

You see the stream is larger now
The course, it has been changed
By the nature of its pebbles
Not the way they are arranged

These pebbles - they stay jagged now
For too long a time it seems
They resist the water smoothing
They divert the spiritual stream

Can you see what is happening here?
Were your fears all justified?
And those who do not fear,
Does it smear your earthly pride?

I like the comparison you made here between the rocks that stay jagged because they resist the water smoothing and pride. Good job.
