Jack O Lanterns Lit the Way
Jack-o-lantern alley lit the way
to the elaborate haunted house.
Full of cobwebs and slimy excretions of gray
Left behind by more than one messy mouse.
It smells like mice a trick-or-treater said.
She looked fearful as she looked up the well-lit hill.
It is just a haunted house, the curtains are red.
Let’s go on up there, said her cousin Bill.
Some of us turned and ran the other way.
We had no concept that this would be all right.
I think I’ll try it in the light of day
Said two or three trick-or-treaters who fled in fright.
