The pain I felt tonight
The pain I felt was real
A man I hardly know
The pain I saw him feel

A man brought to his knee
In the ice and all the snow
A pain so very strong
I hope to never know

A warrior all the day
But inside a bigger fight
Hidden far away
But out it came tonight

The hurt he let me see
The way he feels alone
He spoke tonight to me
The hurt he feels from home

A friend forever lost
A friend I do not know
The pain in him it caused
A friend he can’t let go

A decade now has passed
And still he cries today
The brother that he had
Who took his life away

I never thought a man
Built so hard and strong
Would tell the saddest story
Would sing the saddest song

You have shared this sad story well. I can feel the man's hurt through your words. I have read several of your poems today and I must say that your poetic skills shine. Smiles, Dane Ann

Interesting write that I could go in several directions with my interpertation. Keep the magical pen flowing. Sara
