Ivory Flakes
Revolving season’s ever-changing sensitive frontage
dons nature designed apparel in an ambiance new.
Fall’s fiery foliage bursts with colored mélange of collage,
as the wilted leaves shimmer with the last golden hue.
Northern wind’s chilled whistle in the crisp air they hear,
as they float in the rhythm of their rustle’s frozen phase,
composing the swan song melody of winter resounding near,
while the sapphire sky is shrouded by the seamless grey haze.
The splintered edges of the brittle winter’s arsenal sharp
split asunder the dim demeanor of the ashen glacial sky.
From the congealed recess of the spatial void’s humid warp
frozen flakes of the arctic moisture descend as snow and fly.
After the cold sun sinks spent in the twilight mist gloomy,
the stilled night’s speckled shroud falls with frozen flair,
the frigid fragments of autumn’s charm lost in time’s debris
waft like feathers morphed into spinning snowflakes in the air.
In the blowing blizzard the twirling slant snow’s design
shapes your frosty face emerging from the clasping cold.
The whisper of buoyant flakes reminds me once you were mine,
beckons me to reach out for your warm hands to hold.
Across the snow contoured flashing white flattened meadow,
the snowflakes swirl to dance in the silver tinge of twilight.
I follow entranced with the wind your floating frozen shadow,
sculpted by the ivory flakes drifting away from my sight.
