I'Ve Traveled 'Cross a Faultless Moon
I’VE TRAVELED ‘CROSS A FAULTLESS MOON
I’ve traveled ‘cross a faultless moon
And trod on laughter tickled cheeks
Where craters mar the surface not
But on whose gentle slopes
Sunrise softly sleeps.
I’ve gazed upon a beaming moon
And seen the fire in luminous eyes
While minstrelling stars serenade her
Athwart the endless night
When sunlight sadly dies.
I’ve walked upon a lucid moon
And journeyed ‘cross supple seas of opal,
Down rifts and valleys not touched by time.
Over the curious mountain
So young and yet so noble.
I’ve looked upon a radiant moon
Flying high above the Earth, so grand,
Like Pegasus, but wingless,
Swooping ever carefully
To artfully eclipse the land.
