Its To Each Other That We Fear

We live a life of fear

Even when we ask our lord to be near

We are not, with our prayers, ever so clear

We ask and we beg but to each other we fear

Even when we are high from drinking beer

We say but the Lord should have been near!

To each other we fear,

We want to seem happy and full of cheer

We want to call each other my dear

We want to create happiness in the atmosphere

But our souls are not sheer

To each other we want to shear

We hope our bodies will sear

And the careers of children of the neighbors will tear

Absolutely not go in the direction of spear

Then we ask our lord to be near

And we pretend to the Lord we fear

Even though with our lives and ourselves we are not clear

We live a life of fear

We are never in control of our own gear

Then we say but the Lord should have been near!
