It's the Life of a Man

It’s a pain I could not sharpen
The worst feeling I could not pen
A failure I could not champagne
The more wine
I drown

30’000 feet below my cloud nine
Overcast by its golden shine
Awash by black rain
By His divine
Eye could not be seen

But I’ll rise again
And steam ahead my engine

Dark is the night
Bloodied is the fight
Black is the light
Left is all that was right

I’ll face all that is vein
Spice all that is plain
All my mistakes realign

Heart I’ll regain
With renewed strength to move mountains

For better or worst took my women
She then took my children
My perfect life was stolen
What love gave me in return
Was even...
...more pain!

It’s a shock that could not be spoken
Suffering that could not be taken
A loss that could not be bitten
You just cannot begin to imagine
I was broken

But I changed into the fast lane
Launched this tired airplane
On an uplifting campaign

Steamed ahead my engine
And rose again

‘cos I know no matter what comes, I can
You Just got to make a plan
...it’s the life of a man
