Notes About The Poem

Its Simple

She was a plain homespun girl.
She wore everyday clothing.
She was his precious Pearl
He spoke of them betrothing.

She wore everyday clothing.
Her hair was unadorned.
If she was away he mourned.

She was his precious Pearl
She was not sophisticated.
He thought that was overrated.

He spoke of them betrothing.
Her smile was very plain.
He yearned to see her again.
