It’s Raining

What can I say? It’s raining
Clouds my mind darkened
Thoughtfully simply frightening
Inside, I’m feeling hardened

The numbness I feared most
Lighting strikes the mark missed
In the darkness, all seemed lost
Morning light was the mist

Cold shivers, choking hope
Yet, considering a new day
Anxious is no way to cope
Thankfully, there’s more to say

The story of the hunter begins
Effective efficiency, such a killer
Do you hear the sounds of violins
Whispering softly, see the pillar

The pillar marks the reminder
A reminder of a hunter’s prey
Simply innocent in slumber
No escaping this fate, I say

The hunter is the nightmare
Sleep becomes the prey
The pillar is simply the prayer
The violin’s whisper is dismay

Thankfully, there’s more to say
Previously, I said it was raining
My thoughts now begin to sway
The clouds seem less straining

The story of a new hunter begins
Effective efficiency is the ultimate killer
The whispering sounds of the violins
Its message is to see the final pillar

The pillar marks the end of slumber
A reminder of the new hunter’s prey
Morning is more than simply a number
It’s a chance at something new, I say

The hunter becomes the day
The nightmare is now the prey
The pillar is the message I pray
The violin’s whisper is the way

A way of hope is a message that is true
It includes a prayer for you today
I pray these words remind you anew
Let your smile drive the rain away
