Its Not Just Another Night

It’s (NOT) Just Another Night

When the closet door first squeaks
Get your head under the sheets
The Boogeyman is creeping on the scene
And don’t you even look under your bed
If something’s there – it isn’t dead
Remind yourself it’s only Halloween

When you feel a sudden chill
Don’t move a muscle – hold real still
It’s something not yet gone but in between
And if a shadow passes by
Across the moon high in the sky
Remind yourself it’s only Halloween

Be alert, don’t close your eyes
Listen for the faintest cries
And watch the corners that’s where they convene
If only for one night
Don’t kill yourself with fright
Remind yourself it’s only Halloween

Now even if you’re told
You’re too grown up and old
Don’t kid yourself it isn’t quite routine
It’s a night when spirits roam
And they might stop at your home
After all it still is Halloween
