It's Just That Way
I cannot see the sun,
though I know it is there
I cannot hear the birds,
though you swear that they sing
I cannot feel the breeze
from the east on this morn
But I know
that I
feel you near
I cannot touch the softness
of the clouds in the sky
I cannot hear the sounds
of newborns as they cry
I cannot taste the sweetness
of the grapes from the vine
But I can
when you
hold me, dear
