Its Just a Feeling

It seems no matter where I go
You are my constant shadow
You've been in my heart
And you've worn down my soul

I found you on my doorstep one day
like an hungry stray cat,
you kept coming back
You've made me weak
yet stronger too
I know where I've been
I don't need you

I'll sing a favorite Beatles tune
let you go like a big red balloon
You need to join the marching band
I don't wanna hold your hand
Our time together is at an end
You've been a most unwelcome friend

What a treatise on facing one's demons, assesing them, and discharging them forthwith. I am envious of the air of strength you possess especially in the last verse. Thank you for sharing your experience. It inspires me to mimick your efforts in dealing with my own demons. Remember, pain shared is pain diminished... Scott
