It's Been a Year

Since I have seen your smile Or have heard you laugh Since we had “meetings” in my bathroom, I remember your spot was always the bath. Since we met over Facebook We then started talking, Since our first kiss in the backseat And i got to hold your hand while walking. Since we texted and called each other And stayed up all night Since your messages Woke me up in the morning light. Since you hung out in the garage And played guitar with my brother Since the first time you came over And became another son to my mother. Since we laughed until we cried Laying on my bed Since “see you soon” Were the last words you said. Since you, My best friend Have passed away Since my heart broke into a million pieces That morning in German class that day. Since I've lost the only relationship That meant the world to me Since I've actually smiled without pretending And showed the real me. Since I've seen your shaggy hair And your bright blue eyes Since you would drive over late at night Just to bring me a sweet tea and fries. Since we used to play like ninjas And I’d surprise you with my attack Since I've accepted the fact That you’re never coming back. Aug. 28th, 2013 It’s been a rough year without you. Accepting the fact that I won’t see you again until the day I join you up there in the heavens. I’ll always remember you. You’re in my heart and always on my mind. I could never forget you. I miss you with all of my heart and soul. I’d give anything to see you one more time and hug you. Just to see you smile and to hear your laugh. To feel your presence before you even walked through my door. You showed me that there is a life worth living, just wish I could live it with you again. I love you. In memory of Skyler Dahne Shawn Turner.
