It's Been a While

It's been a while
And the water seems murky
I'm the color of sadness
Since our friendship went quirky

Yet I paddle around
In fresh morning shallows
Where the water is clear
Where no breeze of regret blows

The renewal of birdsong
As the day begins slowly
It's a happiness tune
For the stubborn and lowly

So that beautiful place
Of knowing contentment
I frequently visit
Without fear or resentment

You brighten my mornings
Though unlikely you know it;
May your life bloom and flourish
As you nurture and grow it

May you heal where it's needed
May love find and console you
If it's helpful to know that
Someone's pushing that prayer through

I enjoy this story of friendship. The power of prayer is a gift to those in hard times. You've wrapped up these thoughts in a beautiful image.

Why thank you Hilda, so kind of you. I appreciate you encouraging me. Some friendships are and will always be endearing. Cx
