It's a Habit

Nail biting, a habit so strong
It's hard to break, it lingers on
It's a nervous habit, it's true
It's hard to stop, what can I do?

My nails are short, my fingers bare
I bite them down, I just don't care
I know it's bad, I know it's wrong
But I can't stop, it's been so long

I try to stop, I try to quit
But I can't help it, I just can't quit
It's a habit that's hard to break
It's a habit that I can't shake

It's a habit that I can't control
It's a habit that takes its toll
It's a habit that I must fight
It's a habit that gives me fright

But I will try, I will not give in
I will fight this habit and win
I will break this habit at last
And I will never bite my nails again.

A very beautiful poem on a day-to-day simple theme. Great work!
