It Was That Dance

All was not well yet all was well You wanted to go far but not so far I understood you, you understood me We were more than just friends Yet never star-crossed lovers Until that dance I remember you dared me To dance with you I took your tender hand in mine You lifted your head like this.. Looked in my eyes and smiled I pulled your body to mine I still smiled I put my hand around your waist I felt fire in my veins I could hear your heart beat too Then you came closest than I thought My heart skipped I kept my arms around you Feeling the overflow, every where The music was still flowing And you whispered to me I love you too I made a hug of sweetness, eyes closed I wanted that dance to go forever I never wanted to let go I had a passionate need, As our bodies entwined Friendship died Love was birthed in its exact form Then I looked in the eyes I saw a fire, i had never seen that fire Then I felt my soul cry out for you I had never felt like that before I wish I could feel it again today I wish things had never changed Now that you are here I cant let you go That dance changed all friends are for Now I have to see you from a distance For our friendship to stay That dance i have to let go Because all that happened It was that dance
