It Took Me Long Time

Ii took me a long time
Coming back from the salt pit of bitter sea
I made a long, long climb
Out of it; there was a tide swallowing me
And spitting me on itself
And I locked between the jaws of its mind
Ambiguous, had no shelf
Of rest. My cornea salt white became blind
Searching in the sun
For a way to escape the sea's soft breast
Wrinkled; its milk done;
So I was fed tears in the scorpions' nest.
I thought some gold was there
Or security from the hard talon and claw
That on sand I could not bare;
But found that haven infertile and raw.
Mother, I tried to come back
Before you climb up into the frozen moon.
Heart strong and muscles slack
I wandered a mud deep wilderness in ruin.
