It Is You

It is you who holds my heart’s key and turns me

on with sweetness not seen before in this life.

All of my past bad yesterdays are now free

to slip into forgetful sleep loose of strife.

Come here my love and I’ll give thee a stout knee

to rest thy self on oh good excellent wife.

Tell this sluggard that Alfred’s always for you,

and till life ends forever endlessly true.
