It Is Written

As I sit here plucking out words on my keyboard,
wondering if there is hope and praying that our Nation can once again be restored.
The question comes to mind, where did we lose our way,
that brought us to this point we are at today?

When did our country become so divided?
We have set aside our old standards only to follow those who seem to be misguided.
No longer our fate guided by our faith or our trust in our Lord,
but mans own iniquities will bring forth his undoing, and blatant rewards.

What is happening in our country right now should not even be up for debate,
acts of iniquities so appalling they cause our Lord to clench His jaws for His words we
choose to vacillate.
We've sown our seeds on barren ground and our harvest we now must reap.
We fail to heed His words and His Commandments we fail to keep.

Many scorn when you speak of the wrath of God and what's to come,
for those only one word comes to mind, and that word is simply dumb.
I'm not here to debate the word of God, merely to state my views,
and the road we're on is destruction for this immoral and sinful life we choose.

I fear you are right about the road to "destruction,"Ronald. So many ills surround us. I guess we are now in the posture of reaping the seeds we have sewn. Too bad we didn't think ahead and plant a better crop. Very profound statement here, Ronald. Excellent write! Love, Carolyn

Seeing the faith of some of the young people and others that are finally willing to stand up, I think there is hope in WE THE PEOPLE. God always sees us through the tough times and in the end we are stronger for the journey. I'm grateful that there are people like you in the world that find faith as the fabric of this great nation. Blessings to you for sharing this thought provoking poem with us. Thanks for your kind comment. Karen

There is no doubt we need change desperately. I am optimistic and hopeful though, as I need to be (grandchildren on the way). We have made so many mistakes and need to go forward as we learn from them. This 'me generation' has got to stop now, we need to help those in need and take care of our mother earth, and so, so much more. Wonderful write. Love, Shar
