It Is Not a Sad Song

He was not very good-looking
He always criticized my cooking
He liked wine a little bit too much
And he also liked my touch
He did not care about money
Although occasionally he was so funny
He had a cute dimple on his cheek
He was so vulnerable, so weak
He knew how to make me smile
However, he made me sad once in a while
Whenever I think about our faded love
It resembles a wounded dove
We were too much alike and too much young
Our song has been sung
But I do not want to make you sad
For deep, deep inside me, I am glad
Because we have spent together so many years
Despite disappointment, despite tears
