It Is High Time

It is high time we gave credit
To those men who are not violent to women and other men.
To those men who turn away from hate and self pity.
To those men who have died trying to protect women.
To those men who turn their lives around.

It is high time that we gave credit 
To those women who work with problem men.
To those women who put the welfare of children above their own welfare.
To those women who teach their children, that there are still good men.

It is high time we stopped ignoring the part drugs and alcohol
Play in escalating violent behaviour,
For both men and women.

It is high time we held to account
Those men and women who are taking advantage,
Of others when they are at their lowest point.

It is high time we looked at where money,
That is supposed to be used to address these issues,
Is ending up.
